Transition to school
While at preschool children will be taught by educators knowing the expectations of children, families and staff as the children prepare for their transition to school. Our school P&C has past and present preschool parent representatives which help in our involvement in school activities.
While at preschool the children will be involved in many transition programs, both formal and informal and events with the main school aiding in the transition process.
The Preschool Library Program
The children go to the school library each week to share a love of learning and books with our teacher librarian.
Transition to School Program
During Term 4 the children and their families will be involved in the program. Children are involved in a number of visits to the school to become familiar with the school environment and teachers. During this time the parents are involved in presentations made by our teachers, school executive and regional personnel about what they can expect and what they can do to support themselves and their children to be ready for school.
Blast Into Literacy and Blast Off With Maths
This program implemented during our Term 4 Transition to School Program and involves teaching parents and children how to look at literacy and numeracy in the home environment through play. Parents will be involved in a number of parent workshops and in playing literacy and numeracy games with the children at preschool.
School Community Liaison Officer
Provides preschool parents with opportunities to become part of our school community. Every Wednesday morning our parents meet to learn something new. Activities range from exercise programs, craft, pottery, computer, mathematics and literacy skills and learning English. Interpreters are always available.
