In the last few weeks primary students have been battling it out in some healthy cricket competition.
In support of the current ICC Cricket World Cup, Miss Coleman had many enthusiastic VEPS cricketers sign up to play our very own version of World Cup Cricket.
In the mean time Ms Marshall was creating her own Principals XII. The teams entered a knock out competition in order to find a champion ‘country'. The winning team was England who made it through undefeated.
In order to be VEPS champions, England had to play Ms Marshall's Principals XII. After our Crunch and Sip launch the school headed up to Thurina Park to watch the long awaited match ‘England vs Principals XII'.
Ms Marshall's team featured the following teachers:
Miss Coleman (Captain)
Miss Ivanisevic
Miss Francis
Miss Than
Miss Crane
Miss Curran
Miss Mulchrone
Miss Barr
Miss D
Miss Egan
Miss Chan
and of course Ms Marshall herself
Team England featured the following very talented students
Fawzi Homsi
Breanna Chamberlain
Jamal Moussa
Feras El Masri
Tremaine Tunupapo
Max Taotua
James McKenzie
Rabeh El-Sabrah
Zinzan Tie Tie
Amani Wehbe
The England team were very lucky and recruited the extremely talented Leah Poulton to be in their team. Leah is a female Australian cricketer who plays for the New South Wales Blues and Australia.
After a very exciting game the final score was extremely close with England scoring 56 runs and Prinipals XII scoring 59 runs.
We were very fortunate to have Leah Poulton to join us in celebrating great sportsmanship in our school. The teachers were very impressed with all the teams that competed in the knock out competition and had tons of fun playing against the winning team.
Congratulations to everyone who was a part of our VEPS World Cup Cricket!
